Today ends August and phew, has it been a hot one. I cannot imagine what September will be like here in the South but I am hoping for it to be a bit cooler.

I hope your summer is ending on a high note. Ours sure is as we got some good news end of last week that has been a concern since last September. After many sleepless nights, it is now behind us. And my extra five pounds “could” be from stress and a few too many cocktails. However, onward, not upward… and back to focusing on my health.

I wear white year round. It compliments any hair color including silver. Secondly, it’s cool, crisp and clean. I feel you can wear just about anything with a great white top, including jean shorts, as pictured, and it’s always a pulled together look.

It also helps when you have a beautiful embroidered top, like the one I am wearing here from Johnny Was (the Jeta Top), which also comes in Tropical Teal here.

This shot was taken in New Braunfels, Texas, where my daughter and her family live, outside an old Post Office that has since been converted into a wonderful creole type restaurant.

On this particular day it was over 100 degrees, so shorts were definitely in order for a quick shopping trip to a few of our favorite boutiques in town. Funny story, while shopping that day I tried on Florence, a Tocca perfume (which took me back to Italy) and the scent is still on this beautiful top as well as now in my closet. I have included a link for you below to this beautiful scent and a set to try all their scents.

I love this time of year for all of the great sales as I always look for items that will take me through fall. I happened upon a beautiful black sweater recently on the sale rack at Anthro, which rang up as $4.99. I ran back to the rack and bought two more, for my daughter and DIL. I love a great deal.

Mr. Silver is celebrating a birthday this weekend and I look forward to cooking and baking for him. On the menu are my “italian Shortribs” and Italian Cream Cake. I’d love to share the short rib recipe with you in the future as everyone I have shared it with has loved it.
