Dress For The Day: in MINKPINK

Recently, when dressing for the day, I chose a dress I found at Bleu in Hilton Head Island.  A fun boutique where they believe that  “style is a state of mind.”  I have to say…I agree!

I like to wear dresses and always look for ones I can dress up or down.  Furthermore, this one  by MINKPINK is a shift dress which I love.  They fit my body style well, which tends to be a bit more athletic (not a small waist).  Fashion icons Audrey Hepburn and Jacqueline Kennedy made these dresses famous in the late 1950s and early 1960s.   Check out this Real Simple article featuring shift dresses.

I paired this dress with my usual silver jewelry, including a cross necklace and Our lady of Guadalupe earrings from  Punkies Place, and a pair of Cole Hahn flat sandals from a season ago.  In fact, I wore this outfit to the office (in my home), out for errands at lunch and ended up wearing it to a neighborhood get-to-gather that evening.  I hope to feature my MINKPINK dress in a future post…dressed up!

Do you have a favorite shift dress...that is your go to?  This just became mine!

P.S.  Some might say this dress is a bit short...I say, if you can pull it off and own it, wear it!  Like they say...style is a state of mind!
